About Author
Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1939 and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. Jim is now retired and living in North Vancouver BC, at Cathcart Castle, with Ginny his wife, a retired Community College Education Developer. His daughters are now grown and doing their own thing.
Jim has traveled throughout the United Kingdom, Europe, and North Africa and has spent a mandatory period writing Poetry on a Greek Island. Another year was spent running in the shadows of Hemmingway’s bull until he found his own Spanish sun. Another crawl to the top of the world was an Arctic misadventure in the True North strong and freezing, near Tuktoyaktuk and King William Island, where he found the spirit and soul of Canada.
One of Jim’s fifteen minutes of fame came when the New York Quarterly chose his poem “The Moon” for a tribute to Allen Ginsburg. Over the years he has been published in newspapers and magazines and has had some “Canadian Success” with his poetry book titled The Travelled Heart, which is now published on Amazon Kindle.
Jim’s final frontier is the passionate mindscape of the Novel, releasing Contact Code in September 2023. September is his birth month and wedding anniversary with his wife Ginny, so seemed a fitting time.
The moon
Doesn’t always
Look round
Sometimes there
Are pieces missing
People are
Like that sometimes
